According to industry analyst Jack Gold, Microsoft probably has 10% market share in the year 2014 to 2015 tablets. At that time, the ruler is theAndroid tablet with 50% market share followed by iPad with 30%. Small section will be owned by Research in Motion (RIM).
"In the years 2014-2015, we estimate Android tablet will get a majority market share and the many variations of this model will make the iPadoverwhelmed. But the iPad will still dominate the enterprise market," saidGold.
Outside the mainstream tablets, a small tablet market will be dominated bythe less well known. For example a Linux-based operating system, Tizenor Chrome.
Microsoft itself increasingly taken into account thanks to the presence ofthe Windows 8 operating system . Unlike Windows 7, Windows 8 is specifically designed to operate seamlessly in tablet or PC computer.
As quoted from eWeek, Wednesday (02/11/2011), several leading computer vendors too has declared its readiness to make a tablet computer, based on Windows 8. Among Dell, Acer and Asus.
