Research in Motion (RIM) dismissed the issues related to BlackBerry.RIM's vice president, Alec Saunders, dismissed the notion that BlackBerry sales declined recently.
" BlackBerry's Sales declined ? That's a myth!" Alec firmly in BlackBerry Devcon Asia 2011 in Singapore, Wednesday (12/07/2011). According to Alec, such an assumption is not true. BlackBerry users have increased by 20 million users from last year.
"There are 70 million active BlackBerry users at this time" he said. Besides the sheer number of users, Alec also dismissed the notion that the BlackBerry is only for business. According to data from RIM, he said, 7 of 10 BlackBerry users in Indonesia using their BlackBerry devices for the things that are personal, such as opening a social networking site.
"The five most frequent applications are downloaded including fuel, Facebook, and Twitter," said Alec. Another myth, continued Alec, is asupposition that does not mention that BlackBerry users to download applications.
"Users of BlackBerry in Indonesia to download two times more applicationsthan the average of other mobile device users," he said. Finally, the assumption that says that the BlackBerry application developers can not make money through his work.
The assumption was, said Alec, is a myth. "BlackBerry App World to benefit40 percent more than the Android market. BlackBerry application store has become the second most profitable after Apple," he said.
From the BlackBerry App World, BlackBerry application developers 13 percent profit could reach more than 100,000 U.S. dollars.
