Shakira was honored for the award given in the two-hour event specificallyheld for him at the top of the 12th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, held at theMandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, on Wednesday (11/09/2011) local time. To appreciate Shakira, performing a series of renowned Latin music artists. Some of them appear on stage.They brought back the songs Shakira, among others, "La Tortura" and"Estoy Aqui".
Enjoying a dish of musical artists on stage, Shakira sometimes seen sitting while swinging in his chair or stand up to dance among the tables of those present at the event which is equipped eat that night. However, the most moving Shakira is his father, William Mebarak Chadid.Mebarak, who sat next to Shakira, climbed onto the stage and sang, "MiNina Bonita" ("My Pretty Girl") to his daughter. The song is usually sung as an expression of love father and daughter at weddings and birthdays of people bloody Spain.

"I will always remember this night," said Shakira in Spanish after receiving the award. "It was an honorthat I'm not sure deserve it, but you have made me very happy," he continued.
Shakira closed the evening with a hummed "En Barranquilla me Quedo"and swaying salsa to commemorate his hometown.
