The number of pirated video games circulating on the internet increased by nearly 20% in the last five years.
Data collected research company Envisional shows the most populargames throughout 2010 hijacked and downloaded no less than one million times.
Various game producers say concerned with this development, which can make sighted people they can get various games for free.
But some players doubted the data. They also said the piracy game was not as bad as imagined.
Sam, a game player, said in the year 100 he was able to download pirated games.
He admitted committing a crime is to test the game.
"Before I bought the original game, I had to try it out first," said Sam told the BBC.
"If it turns ugly, I do not buy the game," he said.
Sam says in an average year he bought 50 original games.
