'Melancholia', The Best Film at the European Film Awards 2011

Film by director Lars von Trier  'Melancholia', triumphed in Europe Film Awards 2011 by taking home three trophies. The film, starring Kirsten Dunst  also won the highest award the Best Film category.

Lars who some time ago stirred controversy with remarks about the Naziswas also crowned as Best Director. He beat Susanne Bier won Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards last year through his film,'In a Better World'.

Lars von Trier is one of the Danish director who does have a myriad ofachievements. He has received numerous awards in Europe throughgarapannya films like 'Europa', 'Breaking the Waves', 'Dancer in the Dark' and 'Antichrist'.

Meanwhile, 'The King's Speech' which won Best Picture at the Oscars2011 also get a trophy by Colin Firth who won the Best Actor award. TildaSwinton who played in 'We Need to Talk About Kevin' was named best actress.
