Search of Malaysia Airlines MH370 aircraft missing since
March 8 and has lasted almost a month . Dozens of aircraft, ships , hundreds of
military personnel , and other advanced equipment deployed to " sniff
" the existence of the plane .
The question is , how much it costs already incurred for the
massive search operation is this? Until now there has been no official records
about the total cost of the MH370 search , but can be estimated number will
reach hundreds of millions of dollars .
For example , the U.S. military claimed to have spent nearly
3.3 million dollars, or around Rp 37 billion to finance this operation . The
U.S. initially budgeted $ 4 million for the search operation , but that number
is likely to be exceeded in a short time .
Pentagon spokesman Col. Steve Warren , said the budget of
that used in the initial stages of the search on March 8 to 24 .
" The money was used to pay for fuel ships ,
helicopters , and airplanes , " said Warren told reporters recently.
Costs are used , continued Warren , taken from the U.S.
Department of Defense budget for natural disaster relief and humanitarian
abroad amounted to 4 million U.S. dollars .
When the search location on Malaysia Airlines moved into the
Indian Ocean , the Pentagon contribution will be limited only by donating Navy
surveillance aircraft P - 8 is now stationed in Perth , Australia .
" Between 25 and 31 March, the U.S. Navy budget spent
148 300 dollars to fly the P - 8 in a search in the Indian Ocean , " said
Warren .
The Pentagon also meet the demand of Malaysia to provide
search tools on the ocean floor , including tracker tool and vehicle black box
under the sea Bluefin - 21 .
" For the subsea equipment , the Pentagon provides an
initial budget of 3.6 million U.S. dollars . We do not yet have cost certainty
because all depends on how much equipment we use , " says Warren .
With the location search is now closer to Australia , the
land of kangaroos is now more dominant in the deployment of a variety of search
tools . Consequently , Australia is now also bear the considerable cost .
For example , one Australian Navy warships were involved in
the search for Malaysia Airlines , HMAS Success , the operational cost of
50,000 U.S. dollars per day .
One other new vessels involved in the search , HMAS
Toowoomba , the operational cost of 380,000 U.S. dollars per day for fuel ,
logistics , and crew salaries .
In total , the two Australian warships in the Indian Ocean
during the operation had cost 10 million U.S. dollars .
Meanwhile , other countries , such as Vietnam , have already
cost 8 million dollars in the search operation while still focused on the South
China Sea .
With a search that has not yet found a bright spot , obliged
search operations into Malaysia Airlines is the most expensive in the history
of the search operation cost the world
